SBC App

The app encourages the exchange of professional experiences among cardiologists associated with the SBC (Brazilian Society of Cardiology) and brings the collective experience of conferences to the digital environment.

The Project

Medicine is increasingly a practice of collective decision-making

Initially designed to centralize the benefits already offered by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology to its members, the app has since separated itself from specific tools to become a powerful space for knowledge exchange. Through the app, doctors from all over Brazil can post their questions about a given clinical case and receive comments and advice from their peers, reducing the chances of making a bad decision.

The Challenge

Why an app?

Everyone wants an app to call their own. But they aren't chosen on a whim or at random, they must respond to specific use cases and real user demands. Apps, in general, are justified when:

1) The purpose is clear

2) Usage is recurring

The brief we received didn't meet either requirement. But if the channel was unquestionable, it was necessary to find a unique and compelling value proposition that justified the effort and willingness to have another app installed on the phone.

The Process

In search of the Value Proposition

Talking to doctors, we understood that tools abound and knowledge is increasingly widespread and decentralized. What's missing, in times of extremely impersonal connectivity, is exchange, sharing experiences and collective knowledge building. Doctors from large urban centers exchange ideas in the hallways of hospitals and universities, but what about those who are lone wolves in a small town in the countryside? We hear that medical conferences are spaces where this more comprehensive exchange takes place, but it turns out that medical conferences are sporadic. So we thought, why not emulate the conference experience with a digital product?

The Solution

The conference is also a cup of coffee

The solution developed was a platform for exchanging professional experiences, facilitated by the SBC, which democratizes access to information and strengthens the medical community. It works like this: a doctor has a question about a clinical case, so they post it on the SBC app, where other doctors can comment and help by sharing their personal experiences. Profiles are ranked by participation to encourage engagement and backed by the SBC to ensure the credibility of the information. The Society gains reputation by continually facilitating large-scale debate. Doctors gain more support in decision-making and patients gain the security of medical recommendations that are thoughtful and supported by the community.
