The Challenge

The world changes, people change, work changes.

Every year, Brazilian universities graduate 5.4 million professionals outside the digital field who cannot find qualified positions. At the same time, companies face enormous difficulties in hiring professionals for their innovation and technology projects.

To make matters worse, the pandemic and the weakening of the Real currency have catalyzed a massive exodus of Brazilian digital professionals to startups, scale-ups, and tech giants around the world, as remote work has become a global reality. Brazil's growth in the coming years depends on scarce and elusive human capital.

But despite the growing number of vacancies, the digital industry demands new skills and abilities that often don't align with the original career paths of those seeking to migrate. Courses, which exist in abundance, don't solve the problem because they produce professionals who are addicted to processes and unprepared for real-life needs.

It is in this context that Muda was born, a platform that accelerates the transition of architects, advertisers, psychologists, and people from other traditional careers, aiming to fill the gap of experienced professionals in the innovation and technology industry in Brazil.

The Process

Building a business from scratch

Muda's process is based on over 20 years of experience in career development. Its founders, Marcelo Gluz, Rogério Tavares, and Alice Lerner, created the platform based on their experience in the technology, design, employability, and career management markets, as well as their own pain points as digital talent recruiters. Outracoisa* led the entire business development process, from research to implementation of the platform and its various products.

Muda employs a proven methodology that includes skills assessment, opportunity identification, and training programs. The process began with a free, synchronous pilot program with six architects to test the content format. In parallel, we developed anamnesis, a tool that recommends digital careers based on the answers to key questions. The idea is that the anamnesis serves not only as a gateway to the product but also helps prioritize future journeys.

With the pilot class still running, and with student feedback, the platform was designed based on the learnings from this initial test. With that in mind, we finalized the MVP and began running campaigns to get paying students using the product.

Product Key

Content at the service of a real problem

Muda's secret lies in the way it provides a real-life experience using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology, in which participants learn by doing. Unlike traditional courses that deliver a set content outline and then assess absorption, here, modules always begin with a briefing from a real client, from which the content is progressively unlocked.

The platform was intentionally structured to support this approach. Muda's LMS was designed to guide learning dynamically, ensuring that each participant follows a path that simulates what happens in the job market: understanding a problem, exploring solutions, and applying acquired knowledge at the right time.

The Solution

EMS: Employment Management System

Focusing on the humanities and human-exact sciences, Muda supports professionals from choosing their ideal career path, through holistic training, to landing their first digital job. Once employed, professionals also receive ongoing mentoring to help them navigate the cultural and technical challenges inherent in a new career transition.

Muda aims to support Brazilian companies by expanding the talent pool while enabling people from diverse backgrounds to make a complete, agile, and effective career transition. Participants have 15 checkpoints with mentors who hold the most senior positions in the Brazilian market, many of whom hire from large organizations, which enhances the quality of networking and the chances of success.

This solid training is also accompanied by resources focused on professional identity and employability. Participants learn and receive expert support to create their professional pitch, enhance their LinkedIn profile, build their portfolio, and participate in interviews. Muda's commitment extends not only to what participants have learned, but also to their first job. Muda only fulfills its role when, and if, the student successfully secures and maintains a position in their new profession.
